Does DU need a Squabbles Forum?
Instead of locking threads, they could just be relocated to the Squabbles Forum and let 'em run.

"Dear Poster:
This thread has been moved to the Squabbles Forum.
Get your Righteous Indignation on and have at it over there.
Thank You.
The Mods"

2. Good idea.
The first one could be whether to use egg and flour or cornflakes for fried chicken.

3. A simple solution would be to relocate the thread to the Yahoo forums

4. Hi trof.
I'll be the first to start a thread in there. :D

I'm going to Walmart at 3:00 this afternoon to get in line for the Nintendo Wii, which is being released at midnight.

That would start some squabbles, don't ya think?

:hi:

Well, a couple of things have taken me away from DU.

1) Work. And more work.

2) I gave another internet forum a chance, and stayed for awhile until it became evident that it was not only not "neutral", but also was only a front site for that conservative forum we can't mention here. :)

I'm back at DU, and I won't complain ever again about the way things go here.

I think ya have to get out there and try other forums to really appreciate DU.

Things are goin' great here. How 'bout over there in Alabama? Did y'all get any of those bad storms the other night? We stayed under tornado warnings for about 12 hours, off and on, and we lost power. All's back up and running now, tho.

:D

:hi:

17. Most of it drifted north of us.
Got some fairly high gusts and periods of heavy rain. Couple of power blinks, just long enough to shut the computer down.
I still have some big 'hangers' from Ivan and it didn't even take any of those down.
I believe in the 'Nature's Method' of limb pruning.
;-)
Better than paying a tree service several hundred dollars.
At least they're not hanging where they could hurt anyone.

22. So popular they'll need to subcategorise the kerfluffles by topic.
They'll need a political squabbles, conspiracy theory squabbles, candidate squabbles, personal petty bickering squabbles, cooking and recipe squabbles, music squabbles, book and movie squabbles, cabal and clique squabbles, popularity squabbles, "you-stole-my-boyfriend/girlfriend-you-vapid-cow" squabbles, fat vs. skinny squabbles... HOOOkay; obviously as a group, we'll bicker about anything.

20. Not such a bad idea
At least one would know what to expect when they went there.

And although I like that DU is a place for Democrats to talk to other Democrats, I've often thought it might be fun to have a forum where we can debate rightwingers and/or freepers. Of course they would have to mind their manner and have a semi-civil discourse.

And strangely enough I have never read a post pertaining to either. There were just too damned many of them.

27. The Olive Garden? I haven't eaten there since early June --
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 12:17 AM by Radio_Lady
I'm too scared of being beaten to death with OG breadsticks -- by members of the Restaurant Connoisseurs' Association. (I've heard the Beaverton, Oregon chapter is really evil!) Either that or stray DUers who want to poison me with their soup and salad.

By the way, here's a gift suggestion for your (favorite) (or not so favorite) family member.

I just don't associate with... period. I have no idea if they like, love, or hate the Olive Garden.

So, where you going for dinner Sunday? We're going to eat at the Bistro 921 at the Hilton Hotel, Portland, Oregon.

32. I'm dining with other agnostics who have been banished from their families
No offense intended to fundamentalist Christians, but my Thanksgiving dinners seem to get larger with each passing year. Stop kicking people out of their families for not towing the line. I am running out of chairs!

Jews, a chair for the Mormons -- and one for you, too, on the agnostic side of the table with us!

Peace, Generic Brad...

I hope Uma hasn't really drawn a bead to "Kill Brad" -- after all, she did "Kill Bill"...
