2. ALL of the major league sports are turning Republican.
They're more about greed and who can BUY the best team rather than honest competition.

But I had to vote for candidate bashing, given the recent developments here at DU, and the "sheer coincidence" of it happenning right after a certain oxycontin addicted windbag started making this board a daily feature of his 3 hours a day of mindless babbling.

3. Rublican: The nastiest of spectator sports
let's see...for the neocons atleast, we have a group filled with hate who loves war and death without actually serving on the front lines, right? Chickenhawks. Therefore, the sport of the elephant is nothing more than a drunken Monday night couch quarterbacking session.

That's my guess.

Try it, you'll see how much of a sport it is. It requires skill and practice and there's competition too. Sounds like a sport to me. But hell, I think curling is a sport.

5. You forgot
NASCAR.

I wish it wasn't true, but i fear it is.

I loved when Niles Crane on Frasier picked up a coffee table book and spoke the title: The Heroes of Na-Scar'. Anyone else see that? My husband, a very liberal NASCAR fan, still busts a gut over it.

12. Unfortunately NASCAR...
by it very nature supports the oil lobby. Why don't they start putting alternate fuel sources in those cars? Seems like the perfect testing platform for something other than gas-power.

55. Then You Would Be Wrong
Check out the website of the National Golf Foundation. You'll be amazed at the median income of the 25 million U.S. golfers. Check out the commerce department's website. See how close to 25 million the number of rich americans there are.

You'll find out you're wrong on both counts.

17. people who are voting football are totally nuts
Football is the most socialistic sport on the planet. The NFL in its current incarnation is set up like they were taking crib notes from Castro.

Basically all teams are equal. And one or two wins decide the fate of half the teams in the league. There are no dominant dynasties anymore. Every player is smaller than their team.

It's practically communist!

Baseball is the most republican sport, by FAR.

Especially a majority of the fans, they seem to be the big Rethugs of all. I mean, a lot of them go to these games just to get drunk and watch fights. Might as well give em a gun and call the NRA for new members.

Socialist, even. I don't know much about the game (well, I know zero about the game) but I was reading some DUers comments on it when limbaugh was on a footbal show, remarking at how the rules of the game and the NFL in general was very much democratic.

I'll dig up some links if I get bored.
