17. woa, Ohio ST. is tough
man, they just took over. Michigan better settle down or they are going to get blown out. I'd say if they can maybe pick up a field goal and go into the half on a positive note, they might be able to get back into this thing. Right now they seem a little shell shocked. That's when things can get out of hand.

Big third and two....

Penalty flag.... :)

First, ok, we'll see how this goes now.

45. Tressel's ability to make big play calls looms large
Edited on Sat Nov-18-06 07:19 PM by Wetzelbill
If this game went into the half at 21-14, instead of 28-21, I think Michigan would have won. They came out and played a great second half, but in the end they never could overcome that last touchdown from the last minute or so of the first half. Tressel makes great calls and Ohio State scores off of those calls. It's uncanny.

49. Statistically, they are almost equal...
I thought Lloyd Carr made some questionable calls, to say the least. And other than that, it came down to a few penalties and turnovers.

I really think these are the best two teams in the country, and I watch a lot of college football. They SHOULD play for the national championship. But I doubt they will. :-(

Anyway, Go Bucks!

(I already have the countdown to the national championship on my myspace page!)

50. I'm not bragging about this win.
OSU damn near gave me several heart (or should I say HART) attacks tonight. They're going to Arizona and I'm happy, but they nearly gave that game away with the LOUSY defense and mental mistakes. Thank GOD we have the best coach in college football and the best offense in college football, but in Arizona our defense needs to step the hell up because they just played piss-AWFUL tonight. Gave up too many yards, made too many mistakes (I'm looking at YOU, Jamario), missed SO many goddamned tackles. Games like that are just aggravating to watch.

Yes, I know it's Michigan; yes, I know they're the #2 team in the country playing on an emotional high, but the defense has stepped up all year against good teams, why the second-half collapse? We can only be thankful Michigan's defense was worse.

51. I have to go take a shower now
Being a Notre Dame fan, I will admit I wanted UscuM to win and Smith to have a bad game, so I feel dirty. Saying that I have to admit this was the best game I have seen since last year's ND v USC game. Of course after we finally beat USC next week we will meet tOSU in the NC game, and probably lose again because we have no defense. OSU is the real deal folks, and that pains me to say.

I wanted to see my Wolverines blow OSU out of the water, but we couldn't pull it off this year. I am very curious to see what this does to the BCS standings.

The one thing I want to say to be a spoil sport is this: Remember you only won by 3 points, so keep the overbearing egos out there in check.

But I don't want to see a rematch. Two losses to OSU in one season would be too much for my lil ole heart to bear! I just really hope I don't see Michigan drop too far down in the standings for losing to a better team, and putting up a fight all the way. My hissyfit will come if they go below 5. Oh well...there's always next year.

is bullshit!! Other than IAA, Division I has no playoff, so this game was as close to one as there is. Both teams new what was at stake going into the game. Loser out; Winner in. So there is no need for a rematch!!

The BCS is a clusterfuck. You are very gracious and are to be commended!! I happen to be a Jim Tressel fan more than a Buckeye fan. My daughter was on the cross country and track teams at Youngstown State when Tressel was their coach and Atheletic Director. He is a true gentleman. They won the IAA national championship when she was there and coach Tressel sent me the tapes of the entire footbal season.

65. Well good on Tressel then
I couldn't pick him out of a line up, but I can certainly see why you think he's a classy guy. Thank you for the commendation, but I probably would be a lot crankier if things played out worse than they did. I can at least hold my head up and say we went down fighting. I mean, who else can say they scored 39 points on OSU this year?

And it was a little emotional for me as well, with the passing of Bo on Friday. I went to school there at the end of his reign as coach. It really felt like the end of an era then, and I was really choked up to hear of his death. I was honored that OSU took time to pay tribute to him. I am sure there are OSU fans out there that are rejoicing or making cruel jokes; they should be ridiculed and ignored. OSU fans overall showed me that in spite of the 10 year war and a lot of animosity, on both sides, that when things are at their worst, you all will have our backs. Thank you.

70. It was a sad day for...
the entire college football world(players, coaches and fans as well)when Bo passed. I can only imagine the impact it had on the University of Michigan, please accept my sincere condolences, it makes you realize that football is just a game. And shows you the lives he touched off the field as well as on it. I was also glad to see that Ohio State honored him as well. And like you said I'm sure there are some crude people making jokes, but they should be completely ignored and their little minds considered nothing but irrelevent. Good Luck!!

Though I'm not a native, I'm happy to see Ohio State win.

Our neighborhood is now full of Ohio state swag in every front yard.

PS Since OzarkDem boy is attending Mizzou, I still must root for the Tigers, though.
