I've been downloading music all day. |
|
And boy, is my broadband connection tired!
;)
Hopefully there's some GOOD stuff in there - although I rarely, if ever, seem to pick any stinkers.
I have a HUGH!!11 cd collection that needs to be ripped as well. Not looking forward to that task. Not at all.
Carry on.

I haven't started backing up *yet* - but I will. Dual layer DVDs - as well as the new Terrabyte raid NAS box that's yet to be taken out of it's box and set up.
Holy SHIT I can't believe how much I've downloaded though. Never been into downloading music - but I recently got a device that connects to my home stereo system and streams my music wirelessly from the pc. So now I've started downloading a bunch of stuff and found a massive amount of music I wasn't aware of and love. I just ordered 16 cds last week - most of which resulted from discovering a bunch of new artists via downloads.

My goal is to get all my cds ripped and pack them away. I'm using FLAC as my encoder, so it will all take up a lot of space. With all the downloads I'm wondering if the TB will be enough once I get my collection ripped!

8. That must be some collection you've got. |
|
I've got all the CDs I really listen to a lot in iTunes, but I haven't come close to filling my 20GB iPod. Of course, I'm not using FLAC as my encoder. If you ask what I am using, you will get a blank stare in return. :)

9. FLAC compresses by about 50% - |
|
So a cd is usually around 300MB once it's been compressed - average.

They are not pleasant people if you are not giving them their cut.
