and so she retired for a time. I have missed her as well. They said she had been gone for a decade.

Heard this on the Midnight Special on WFMT in Chicago. I had wondered the hell what had happened to her. Always happy to meet another fan.

Saw her in VT some years ago on The Mask and the Mirror tour. She is wonderful and hypnotic live. She referred to her band as her "idling Porsches" and they were each brilliant in their own right. Hubby had won the tix but couldn't get off work. I begged people to come with me and finally ( 6 or 7 people later) found someone who would see her with me. The others were later disgusted with themselves, they had no idea how wonderful she was. I did try to tell them!

33. I was in an Irish stuff shop in downtown Chicago a number of years ago....

And they had a CD of her playing in the background. Cannot remember which one. Long before The Mummers Dance got played on radio. I immediately was smitten with her talent...and have since bought every CD she has made. Must get this new one as well.
