Shopping as an unappreciated but widely practiced sport.
I'm not a Shopper, I just go to the store to buy things. It's time though, to recognize Shopping as the favorite sport that it is for many people.

For example, I meet women all the time who boast about how cheaply they bought the fixin's for a holiday meal- free turkey , two for one pies, cranberry sauce on sale, etc. The meal may be inedible, but by golly they only spent $16.32 for it! Since I prefer eating to shopping, I don't fully appreciate this triumph. The same applies to the recent furor over the Playstation. People aren't standing in line to buy the Playstation. They are standing in line to prove that they are the superior shoppers able to obtain even the rarest items. The Day after Thanksgiving has become the Super Bowl of Shopping in which only the finest Shoppers among us dare to go out to compete for the best prices.

I don't understand it, but then I don't follow football, either.
