da views are bummin' me out (stream of unconsciousness)

I used to post stuff and occassionally people would respond to what I said, and that was cool, except for this one post one time where someone was real mean and stuff, but I got over it.

Anyway, then people just sorta stopped responing and I really started to get an inferiority comples (ok, so I alread had an inferiority complex, but it was really kicked into high gear by everyone ignoring me.) So I felt all alone an stuff until someone told me about da views. I hadn't known that you could look on the forum site and see how many people had "viewed (ie "clicked by accident") your thread. And that was pretty cool for a while. And I thought "WOW - all those people are looking at what I wrote." untill I began to think this is just a way to quantify how loserish I am since I can actually see how many people looked at my thread and chose to not even say one word! So I can divide the number of people who looked at the thread by the number of people who were thoughtful enough to take a second out of their day to respond.

Da views are bummin' me out.

I told my daughter that when I die I direct that my funeral/memorial service/wake/etc. be conducted as a political event/rally, and that no Republicans were to be invited and that if any had the unmittigateg gall to show up, that they be kicked out on account of they never gave a damn about me - or anyone I care about - during my life.

Personally, I find it the same way... and the smaller the community, the worse it gets. Redstone's advice is good, as well, although sometimes difficult.

unscientific assessment, the average ratio of views to posts on a thread is about 10 views per one post in reply.

This thread is in that range, so you're doing fine.
