What's your favorite "outsider" music?
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, see here:

http://www.keyofz.com/keyofz/

I'm talking The Shaggs, Langley Schools Music Project, Wesley Willis, etc. What's your favorite?

I have to admit a certain affinity for "Heart Of The Heartland" by Mark Kennis.

1. C'mon let's merry go, merry go, merry go round! Boop boop boop!

The Wildman aside, of all the 'outsider' stuff I've heard I'd have to go with the utterly genius song-poem "Junkies and Monkeys" sung by Kay Weaver and written by James Yates. Here's a real audio link (from Irwin's old WFMU show) which starts about 23 minutes in:

That said, Kathy Fire's "Mother Rage" is just brilliant and I've snuck in into many a compilation for friends.

"Get your rapist hands off my shoulder now,
Damn your sweet smiling mask of care for me.
Fuck your little boy games you charlatan,
I've seen what you've done and I know who you are."

"Heart of the Heartland" kinda forces itself down the old lughole! I must admit to skipping that whenever I've played the Key-of-Z CD.

edit -- do you know Lil' Markie? If not, check out (mp3 link) "Diary of an Unborn Child" with much more to explore ("Story of an Alcoholic Father" being the 2nd most traumatic song although the videos are just freaky) here:

2. That was quite...educational...?
I think I've just been scarred for life.... :scared: The Lil' Markie video and songs were creepy. If I had been sitting in that congregation, while that guy switched in and out of voice of a baby duck, I would have thought the guy was mad and on the verge of having a psychotic break!

3. Probably a toss-up between The Shaggs and The Uhu Stics.
I don't know if Stud Cole would be considered outsider music, but he's great. And Daniel C., the Pirate of Love, is pretty special too.

But the Uhu Stics... wow, I've never heard anything like their one album, "Non Toxic."
