4. Oh, it's just every time I go down there something TRULY odd
happens.

Last night I was about to check into a hotel. The clerk helped the person in front of me, and the *second* it was my turn to check in my arch-nemesis called to make a reservation. :scared:

I went elsewhere. :D

5. Dang. What's in that sea?
:scared:

I'm freaked out over swimming pools because of people with bladder control problems. Oh, and germs too - they say not to drink the water yet it's okay to submerse one's self within it.

I also won't go into lakes because of the molds, goo, and those large leech things that attach to you and get a free meal... yuck!

A shower is fine by me. Or a bath if I felt romantic...

13. If you can get past the bathtub ring
of rotting dead fish, the Salton Sea is a great place for swimming. :D

15. Most pools are cleaner than the water you drink. "People with bladder control problems..."
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 09:54 PM by Radio_Lady
You mean older people or children? Most of the kids use "Little Swimmers" which help control the small squirt of uric acid within the thousands of gallons of pool water. But sterile urine in pool water, properly sanitized, won't really hurt you. Even a floating piece of fecal matter won't either, as long as it's removed fairly quickly. I work out in two local pools pretty much all the time. Never had a problem.

Now, the Salton Sea, that's another matter. We saw it once and it was pretty fragrant... shall we say. We have kids who live near the Great Salt Lake in Utah. That's also a very smelly place, but I don't think it would do more than sting, but not sure. I think it has brine shrimp living in that environment.

And then there's the Dead Sea in Israel. Last time I knew, people were still swimming in it. I swam in it and was none the worse for wear -- and you float REALLY well!
