**Update on PoppyG**

At the present time he has two kidney stones that are too large to pass in his left kidney. The fact that the kidney recently has had surgery has made it very painful. He has an "outward growing" lesion on his right kidney.

I have a headache and a heavy heart. He kept trying to go to work through this whole thing and it just angers me that he won't take better care of himself. Thanks everyone. That's all I know right now. He has an appt. with his oncologist (finally) on Tues.

Has his doctor considered lithotripsy to break up the stones? Very effective, but I don't know if it can be used on a kidney that recently had surgery.

20. That is usually the prescribed treatment for oversized stones, but there

is the worry of damage to the kidney which would then necessitate another surgery. It's his decision to make I guess. I would rather he have them surgically removed instead of risking killing off the kidney. He's going to see what his oncologist says and go from there I guess.

29. If He Has A Cystoscopy/Ureteroscopy/Laser Procedure,

make sure he is discharged with strong painkillers. I've had that procedure, and it is quite painful post-op (not bad during, since they do it under a general). Best of luck.

41. I don't know. He's on some mega pain killers and is still trying to

get to work every day. I have never met anyone with as much resolve to get through the day as my father. :hug:

That's for sure.
Maybe that's his way of dealing with it, by working.
In the end, it's his decision in how he wants to take care of himself.
You can only do so much to make him aware of his situation.
After that, it's up to him.

I hope your Dad slows down and takes better care too! My Dad just had some stones 'blasted' and although the procedure wasn't a piece of cake and the few days following were not the best, he seems to have made a good recovery. I hope for the best for your Dad too.
