A Loving Note To My Coworkers |
|
Look you moronic craptoids. I am NOT here to support your home computer, network, printer, cable modem, etc...
If you decide to buy a fucking Blackberry to assist your sales, why don't you open the fucking MANUAL that came with it and LEARN to use it. I don't own one, never have (and hopefully never will) and i'm not about to read YOUR manual to figure out how to use it. I don't have the fucking time you Pygmy-brained troglodyte!
If you decide to buy your own software to manage your sales pipelines (while deciding NOT to use the systems we currently have in place) do NOT fucking come to me and say, "I'm an idiot when it comes to computers. Can you tell me how this works"?
No moran, YOU are an IDIOT period. If you buy a fucking lawn mower, do you take the time to figure out how to start it or do you just pull up a fucking lawn chair and stare at it all fucking day? You bought the fucking computer, LEARN how to fucking USE IT. I'm not expecting you to learn binary and start writing CSS Style Sheets but I.AM.NOT.YOUR.PERSONAL.FUCKING.TECH.SUPPORT.
:argh:
thank you.

6. Hey, while you are posting here, I need a little help with..... |
|
...JUST KIDDING!
I bet it is frustrating that people expect you to give a rats ass about their personal tech toys. I would just start telling them you are too busy doing your job to assist them with their personal gadgets.

10. An end user called me at home yesterday |
|
I just stared at the caller ID. I don't have a company phone. He must have searched for my home number and called me at home on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't reinforce this behavior, I just ignored it and he called the helpdesk this morning.

12. Invest in a few "For Dummies" books to throw at them |
|
That way you not only give them the gift of basic knowledge but you can hit them with something that, if thrown correctly, could leave a mark. ;)

13. My previous companies have had strict software policies |
|
If something is not "approved" for company use, you can get in big trouble for downloading unapproved software onto a company computer, even if it is something similar like a security patch to I/E. If you need something beyond the standard company software package, it must be approved by management in at least 2 departments. i.e., if I wanted XYZ software, my manager would need to approve, and the I/T manager would as well. And, if it requires special licensing, I would need to either contact the software company itself regarding licensing, or others in the company if it is already licensed for another department.
Things like blackberries also must be approved by management in two departments.
Granted, I've worked in mostly big corporations, but it was also true in the smaller places I've worked, too.
