3. is it a different green bean recipe or standard. i have
made that only last year. hubbby request and i got it off the back of something. was good, but owndering if there is a better.

and i dont have any good stuffing recipe. hubby smokes stuff the day before so it really cant go into turkey anyway. i have done box (i know, bad, but i make real mash tators, lol lol). thought i would explore easy, i mean EASY stufing recipe. every year i have gone a little further. i wasnt much of a cook before marrying and have just started all this about 5 years ago. i believe in baby steps

thanks for sharing menu. looks yummy and fun and creative. lots of desserts. i am the only one that eats them

20. I love to cook, but there will be lots of help around
I don't have to do any desserts and some one else is bringing the shrimps

The szechuan green beans are similar to this recipe
http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/339/CrunchySzechuanGreenBeans68241.shtml
They can be made a day ahead of time.

18. my sister and my nephew absolutely love the gross old green bean
casserole, complete with the canned green beans, the Campbell's soup and the canned onion rings . . .

:puke: but in a sort of almost good way

I wanted to cook green beans a little more interestingly and I thought they were gonna kill me

I'd like to do one other decent veggie, but I don't know what

Besides, no way we'll eat all of the stuff already on the menu.

My BIL's family business is a meat shop, so we do a very traditional mincemeat--sweet, a little tangy and pungent

23. recipe for who ever wants
adds to a meal, if people wll try because it is a veggie and spinach at that, but i will make and take to others house to help fill in a menu and good reception. i make it day before

spinach casserole

2 pkgs of frozen chopped spinach, cooked and drained well.
1 tall can of artichoke heart, drained and quartered or halved
1 can sliced waterchestnut, drained

melt over low heat - 1 lrge pkg of cream cheese with 1 stick of butter
(a whisk works well, per authoratarian mother in law, lol lol but this one she is right)

Place artichoke hearts in bottom of casserole dish. Mix spinach, water chestnuts, and cream cheese mixture together. Pour over the artichoke hearts. Top with seasoned bread crumbs. Bake uncovered at 350 for 30 minutes.

10. yes to the pecans
i love the crunch.

i'm doing a toned-down menu this year cuz there's only two of us

turkey
mashed potatoes and gravy
mashed sweet potatoes
dressing
green bean casserole
rolls
pecan pie

i make the standard green bean casserole but i add about a cup or so of shredded cheddar cheese, a lot of sliced fresh mushrooms and plenty of fresh black pepper

16. sweet potatoes aren't too difficult
boil the taters until they're tender. mix together one egg, a can of condensed milk and some brown sugar, stir into the taters. then mix some butter, brown sugar and pecans for the top.

rum does sound like it would add a nice touch, though.
