The San Diego Chargers
With an 8-2 record, they are in first place in the AFC West.

Their only two losses this far were by a combined total of 6 points.

They scored a rare win on Denver soil last night, 35-27. They had many injuries on their defensive line, and were down 24-7 at halftime.

Their win over the Denver Broncos yesterday marked the FIRST TIME IN NFL HISTORY - 12.328 games - that a team has won two in a row after being down by 17 or more points.

They are the first team in NFL history to win 4 in a row after giving up 24 or more points.

LaDainian Tomlinson became the fastest player in NFL history to score 100 touchdowns - he did it in 89 games yesterday. This broke the record held by Emmitt Smith and Jim Brown.

He racked up 179 yards and FOUR TD's.

He has scored an NFL record 19 touchdowns in the past 6 games.

The Colts lost yesterday... the AFC is up for grabs. The Chargers are poised to take it. When Shawne Merriman comes back in a few weeks, they may well be the team to beat.

The Bolts, not the Colts!

1. Let me guess: you live in SD?
Kudos to your boys, that was a stirring second-half performance.

2. I was born in San Diego
And live happily now in Los Angeles. Which incidentally, is where the Chargers originated back in 1960 before moving to San Diego the next season. :-)

Lifelong fan here, and have suffered many ups and downs over the past 30+ years! These are very exciting times for the fans! :bounce:

3. Thanks to your Bolts for beating the Broncs.
Now my boys get to face them Thursday night. At least it's in Arrowhead and we have injured starters returning.
I'm looking forward to the Chiefs at Chargers. I'm certain the Chargers will be favored, but it should be an interesting game.

4. You're one of the two who beat us
But we shall be avenged! :D

5. Chalk it up to Arrowhead.
I'll still put our RB up against yours any day. Especially with a healthy O-line. LJ vs. LT should be quite a show.

8. LT is the best in the game.
Just check those stats I listed. No one else comes close. If he continues this pace, he will rank among the all-time greats.

But yeah, I look forward to the rematch!

9. I can't argue that.
But a good line makes all the difference.

6. So they fall behind early and often, and rely on their running game too much
Let me know when they start dominating.

Though I'm glad the Cowboys don't play them this year! Well, until the SuperBowl, anyway. (It could happen!)

7. Rivers can PASS
They use their passing game very often when need be. Rivers is the ONLY QB in the game with a 90 or more rating in ALL yardage categories.

The Cowpokes?

11. Yeah, his rating is almost as high as Romo's (who can also pass)
To put aside the team loyalty a minute...

I like San Diego. I'd love to see Schottenheimer finally get a Super Bowl and stop all that "He's not good enough" talk. Rivers impresses me, not just on the field, but with the way he handles himself in interviews. He just sounds like a leader. And LT... He could quit now and he might already be in the Hall of Fame. If he has a full career, and doesn't burn out like Terrel Davis, he's going to push a few records up the number line.

Now, back to team loyalty. Check out Dallas's stats since Romo took over. He's got the second highest QB rating, our only loss has come because of a really, really, really stupid penalty AFTER time had expired, and we've beaten the previously undefeated Colts. We aren't there yet, but we've got a soft schedule and we are showing signs of improvement. Wait until after the Giants game in two weeks before you laugh. That's when I'll decide whether to smile or wait til next year.

10. The Bolts, not the Dolts!
There are no more Colts. Not to a native Baltimorean, anyway. They simply ceased to exist. Whatever happened to that QB from Tennessee, Manning, anyway? He seemed like a sure-fire NFL prospect... :sarcasm:

Oh yes, there is only one LT; he used to play linebacker for the Giants. The Chargers' fine running back should be LTD; I know it should be LDT, but he sure is a smooth, classy ride!

12. I'm not worried - you have Marty Schottenheimer.
I have Bill Belichick.

Good luck in January. You'll need it. :D
