There should be a name for the sludge on the bottom of french press coffee |
|
I can't think of anything witty - "javament" or "coffunk"

4. Go for something appropriately pretentious and French-sounding... |
|
...like, "The dregs of my awakening." i.e., "I reached for the French press to refresh my cup, but all that remained were the dregs of my awakening..."
:P

8. I read somewhere that french press coffee is not good for you |
|
...or that is has not negative effects not present with regular brewed coffee. Anyone recall this as an issue.

9. I've heard something about that. |
|
It has to do with the coffee being directly brewed in the water and not run through a paper filter. I guess the paper filters out some bad chemical. That's all I can recall.

11. Yes, unfiltered coffee contains benzine and cyanide. |
|
It's even worse than 'second hand smoke'. ;-)

On March 11, 2003, Representatives Robert W. Ney (R - Ohio) and Walter B. Jones, Jr. (R - North Carolina) declared that all references to French fries and French toast on the menus of the restaurants and snack bars run by the House of Representatives would be removed. House cafeterias were ordered to re-name French fries as "freedom fries".
