If you saw 'Casino Royale' and did NOT like it, chime in. |
|
Why did you not like it?
I did have a couple of issues with it; more with production than plot, but I wanna hear your issues with it. :)

4. And not in a good way! |
|
(I am referring to the 2006 movie... The 1967 movie was a farce and needed more Woody in it... Woody Allen. The movie is watchable when he's doing his schtick... otherwise it's schtickless...)

5. It needed more Peter, too |
|
Peter Sellers. ;)
I haven't seen the remake, but back in the sixties when I was a huge Bond fan, I almost cried when they destroyed an Ian Fleming title to make that farce. It was total crap with no redeeming value. Shtick or no shtick, Woody and Peter should have been embarrassed.
Woody Allen should have retired from spy spoofs after he released 'What's Up, Tiger Lily?'.

6. I love "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" |
|
The theatrical cut; not the TV version where all the jokes were replaced...
Still, the 1967 spoof is a bit pathetic, to say the least...

7. 'What's Up, Tiger Lily?' TV version? |
|
I never saw that. I hope they kept the classic Miracle Whip bit. I can't eat an egg salad sandwich in company without saying it!
Shepherd Wong: You want egg salad, I'll give you egg salad! Did you bring the mayonnaise? Suki Yaki: Mayonnaise? Shepherd Wong: I told you to take a jar! Suki Yaki: Boy is he weird. Shepherd Wong: Oh, nevermind. If there's none on board, forget it. We'll use Miracle Whip. Heee-yee-hee-hee-ha-ha!
Forty years later, it still cracks me up!

8. JFK put 'Casino Royale" and Ian Fleming on the map. |
|
Named it as a recently read book. The rest, as they say, is history. Fleming said he was eternally indebted to Jack.

9. Forgive my brevity, but... |
|
...it just seemed like a sad attempt to reinvent. I was not impressed at *all*.
