I hate getting sick
If I could get a cold and that's it, I'd be thrilled. I have asthma and only once in my life have I gotten a cold and not had it end up in my lungs, making breathing so hard.

I'm doing a couple breathing treatments this evening, but if it doesn't help, I'm on steroids again. :eyes:

I don't have insurance (still) and hope to avoid a run to the ER.

I know it could be worse. :(

I'm just very tired and very cranky.

1. I hear you; I hate it too
My colds always end up involving terrible sinus headaches.

I hope you feel better soon.

5. Sinus headaches are the worst
Like Lelapin said when she was little and had the flu "mommy, my head's gonna break!"

22. I numb myself with tv.
I've had some health issues that I am still waiting test results. Nothing too serious, I think it is stress related. Talking about jobs, etc. Reading a lot, taking lots of photos and entering DU's photo contests. You know, same old stuff.

And you?

Nah, just dealing with lungs that should be in someone 30 years older than me. Lots of scar tissue and stuff.

It's a horrible way to start a new job. Sick... But, someone at that new job had this when I started there. :(

29. I'd tell you how to relieve it, but you won't like it.
Quit flour and dairy. Try it for 2 weeks. If it doesn't work for you, you can call me an asshole.

32. You're absolutely right
my sister's doctor had a pulmonary patient who had to be put on Diflucan for thrush. (all the steroids and antibiotics). His pulmonary function increased dramatically. So dramatically that the doctor ordered him on a maintenance dose of it and off sugar and flour and dairy.

I got to take it for 30 days and used my rescue inhaler twice the entire month. But the insurance company said no more because that's not what Diflucan is indicated for...

10. I'm in the same boat ....
as you are with steroids and breathing treatments from timer to time. I have had three in the last five months. I hate to bring this up here as I know how people despise Wal-Mart but I get my asthma meds there for $4.00 for a months supply.

This is a list of the states.

This is the list of drugs.

Good luck.

14. Thanks!
Target is also matching on some drugs. I'm okay on liquid albuteral for the machines and I have enough steroids for this round. But in another month, I'll be buying more.

Sorry you have to deal with this too. I'm grateful that steroids help but they're wicked drugs. I remember when I was little, I'd wheeze for weeks at a time. I have no idea how I survived.

23. I hear ya...
 I had the flu about a month ago, and it was awful. My husband has had the flu and some nasty virus that acted like a cold but hung around for a MONTH... :yoiks: His doctor put him on heavy duty drugs, and he's better now, but he had a secondary infection.

I hope it's short and mild! :pals:
