GOPisEvil - 2, Toilets - 0
Oh yeah, the joys of home ownership. x(

So, my toilets decide that they're not really going to hold water in the tank like they're supposed to. Turns out that toilet part manufacturers make their flapper valves out of material that doesn't care much for chlorine (so no bleach tablets, kids, save the bleach for inside the bowl). Well, I didn't know this, so both of my toilets suffered erosion of the flapper valve and began to slowly leak.

Well, take THAT eroding flapper valves! I have now installed new flappers (better, too) on BOTH toilets. Hahahahahaha! No more wasting water!

I declare plumbing victory! All hail me.

2. Total cost of repair: $13.
I can't imagine if I'd not known what to do and called a plumber. :scared:

4. Not only are you handy...
I wouldn't even want to think what a plumber would have charged for two toilet repairs.

3. Where were they leaking?
The one in the 1st floor bathroom here runs into the bowl and periodically, the toilet flushes itself...

5. Mine were running straight down the drain, I guess.
The toilet would periodically start re-filling once the float got too low.

8. They tried to distract me with their "bi-fold doors" when I bought this place.
I kicked those doors' asses on day 1. I guess the toilets decided to test me again. Big. Mistake.

Now, let mek now when you're done with the last mowing of the year so I'll be able to cross that one off as well. :)

Take that, growing weeds grass! I'll have to take a weed whacker to what's left. I'll keep you posted. :)

15. ooooooooohhh! the WHACKER.
:scared:

Sounds like we have a similar problem though. I've forgotten what grass is since I moved into this house. Freaking weeds will be the death of me. Mainly noxious weeds too - like knapweed. That's what I'm working with around here. Grr.

16. I've got Johnson Grass, dandelions, etc, etc...
I'm just lousy at yardwork. I need to be motivated to tend to it.

I've got a fresh load of string in the trimmer all ready to go. :)

17. Sarah is insisting (rather forcefully) that I let you know
that she would go toilet to toilet with you any day of the week. She is a porcelain-god goddess! :loveya:
