Where did you get the Hutterite turkey? Was it from that store in town (can't remember which one) that sells Hutterite meat and produce?

It's been beautiful, but it's going to get very cold again by the end of the week. I've had it with winter, already. :-(

Where they used to sell Mundare Sausage; the new place sells Bison, Hutterite Chickens and Turkeys, and venison and the prices are pretty good. I saw that we were going to get cold again this weekend; I think we've already gotten more snow than we did all last year...

Do you remember the name of it, or the address? I'd love to get some Hutterite chicken and turkey.

There is a store at Whitemud Crossing where I get bison (in fact, that's all they sell). The prices are excellent (mind you, I just get ground bison, for pasta sauce, quesadillas and tacos). I'll have to compare it to the new store.

I'm loving the new place! The neighbourhood is wonderful. I was pretty busy last month, and the beginning of this one, so I've barely unpacked since moving day. (some friends unpacked the kitchen and bathroom stuff for me) It feels very good to have my own space again! :bounce:

It's across from the Whitemud library, and kitty corner to Red Robin. He makes a lot of different things there, including bison bacon (there were samples out; I personally didn't care for it - I think it was a honey/garlic version), buffalo jerky, sandwich meat...there's a lot there for such a small place.

Thank you! The general vicinity is enough. I used to live only a few blocks away.

I haven't been to Ben's Meats, yet, but I'm already impressed! They have a number of gluten free meats! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! That is actually closer to me than the Highlands store, so I'll check it out first.

I lucked out with this place; a friend lives here (there's only 6 suites, and most have lived here 10+ years) and basically got the place on her recommendation. I can't believe how cheap the rent is; mind you, it is a pretty small suite. It has been crazy; it took me so long to just find this apartment. I'm not moving anytime soon, either. It's right handy to everything, yet in a really quiet area. I also knew quite a few people in the neighbourhood even before I moved in, so that helps, too. :-)

I was in a funk.

Then I got depressed.

After days of eating better and sleeping in the same bed for more than one night I slowly starting returning to my form of sanity. I missed all you guys but I didn't feel up to finding a flat spot for my computer. It seems like I've been shopping and plunking everything down on the kitchen table. By the time I find a small clear space I'm too tired to fight with weak signals and dropped calls.

Things are getting better. I knew you were there if I needed to talk but I really just needed to feel better so I could make the necessary changes. It wasn't all bad. Mr. A came down for a brief vacation & I was warm until this week when a cold snap hit Florida. I'm glad this place is well heated even if the smell of mothballs is killing me.

Well this is a 2 step move. I packed Miss Frodo in my car early in November and headed south. We arrived after a 4 day 3 night adventure. I started unpacking and quickly realized that I needed to move post haste! I can't breath here! The landlady has this place loaded with toxic chemical smells. I wake up with a headache most days. I need fresh air to get rid of it. (BTW FYI Ramada Inns seem to give me near migraines!)

I don't have a land-line here, my cell phone drops calls all day long. Using my air card for my computer has been almost impossible!

Last Friday I went apartment hunting! On Saturday I left a deposit on the 4th place I looked at then went to Rooms To Go and ordered bedroom furniture, my first new bedroom set in 32 years, it felt great!

The neighborhood is going to be very entertaining :evilgrin: but my rent is low and I'll be safe when I'm at home. I should have very interesting stories to share with DU after December 1st.

How exciting, getting new stuff! I got some new (well, new to me - actually gently used) furniture this move, and it felt so good. I was so tired of my other stuff...it really gives the feeling of making the break with the past that's needed.
