Bartcop's Poker Tournament

is in it's 4th week. Wednesday nights at 9pm Eastern time.

The entry fee is $5.50. I like that. That's about all I want to gamble in a poker game.

I came in 3rd in the first game and won $15.
Since then they have been murdering me. ;)

Met him at a get-together in DC - quiet guy with a sweet wife. Met a bunch of Bartcoppers, BuzzFlash, Joe Conason, David Brock, and best of all, DUer JulieRB.

Hope in addition to being in better health, that his Chinaco shortage is remedied!

in early '01. I wish I had gone to that DC meetup - was that the one at Carville's restaurant?

I know Carville can be a jackass, but I always appreciated him letting us use his restaurant, talking to us, and signing books (for those of us who brought them along) for that fundraiser

Bart had always mentioned on the website that Julie Hiatt Steele was "disabled" and unable to work, but never elaborated, and I always wondered what he was talking about. But once you met her it's obvious she is severely crippled with rheumatoid arthritis.

I couldn't find it on his site. I'll be home this Wednesday, maybe I'll check it out.

3. I was at the table for his very first online game a few years back...

was pretty fun. I stuck in for a while, but eventually lost.

Also played cards with the man in person when he did the Palm Beach Poker Tour.
