3. Fake
Only because I hate killing anything. I know, I'm weird. I get so sad after the holidays seeing all those trees thrown out by the garbage.

10. While I agree that over a period of time
an artificial tree is better for the wallet and the environment, the parishes along the gulf coast in Louisiana collect trees after Christmas by the thousands and thousands, weigh them down and dump them off coast. They provide some solidity to the coast to slow down its erosion and they also provide outstanding habitat for fish. Maybe a similar use could be found in your area.

Merry Christmas.

11. That sounds cool.
I didn't know that. Good to know that not all of the trees end up yellowing at the side of the road like they do here.

18. There are places here that do that...
some places also shred them up and spread the chippings as foot paths along the nature trails.

8. I prefer a real tree, but we have an artificial one.
Looks like the real thing but is a whole lot less messy and is kinder to the environment. We've been using this one going on ten years, and it still looks fine. :)

13. The birds use my tree all winter.
We get a fresh one and put the tree outside in the snow after Christmas. We puts lots of birdseed, bread pieces and fat on it so the birds can use if for awhile. They love it.

14. Artificial
1) No needles to deal with.

2) I don't have to go out each year and pick out a new tree.
I have nice cars so I don't want to have to tie a tree to one of them to bring them home.

3) I know what size my tree is and how to decorate it.

4) No bare spots in the branches

5) I don't have to water it!

6) I don't have to dispose of it.

15. I prefer real trees, but we have a fake one.
It's a $150 dollar tree. I got it for seven dollars at a church sale.

16. Real
I wasn't allowed to have one as a kid, so I'm compulsive about having one as an adult. I love the smell, and fake trees, no matter how expensive, never truly come close to the real thing.

My city has a recycling program as well, and I know xmas trees are grown on farms, so I don't feel bad about it environmentally.

17. Artificial all the way...
when I was younger, my mother got a hair brained idea to get a real tree...so my dad and I hike through some real rough brush...carrying a chainsaw/hand saws...we hike through muskug, through creeks, crawl over/under fallen tree's...and we couldn't find a tree that was the right size...

So, my father, in all his brillance...decides to hump up a tree...and he lowers a rope, and I tie the chainsaw to it, he pulls it up...he's up there for about half an hour trying to cut the top of this tree down...cussing, cussing...and more cussing...finally, he cuts through it...and the damn thing nearly hits me...

Now, we are in the middle of nowhere...I'm carrying a tree, that weighs a ton...while my dad is cussing/pissed off, and taking his frustrations out on me...anyways, we get the tree home...and the damn thing lasts a week, before my mother throws it out because all the needles fell off...tree looked like it was dead...

So, a bunch of effort for nothing...after that incident my dad bought an artifical one...
