What's the you behind the mask really like?
Michael Richard's (won't call him Kramer - the real Kramer is a stand up guy) outburst got me thinking again about that inner self, the one that not too many people see. He or she usually comes out when pissed off or drunk.

What's yours like?

Mine's an asshole, but he's getting better every day :)

2. IRL, where I am 100% myself, I am regarded as
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 07:17 PM by crim son
very intelligent, kind, and funny. I am far more apt to spill my guts here where it will not have any lasting effect, than I would elsewhere. So the real me at present is a basket case! But normally the worst thing that could be said about me is that I like to spend a lot of time alone. I am in fact intelligent and kind; funny only if you have my sense of humor.

On edit: this is without a doubt the stupidest thing I've ever posted. The only reason I'm not deleting it is because the person behind the mask is, apparently, an idiot :)

Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 07:06 PM by otherlander
The everyday me isn't such a great poet, keeps no bees, doesn't do pot, goes to school, and talks to other people. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not a people person. And in my fantasies, I'm not even a person.

Edit because it didn't really make sense.

23. You don't come off that way online
I've only been around for a while but you seem very social here at DU.

I'm also very socially awkward. It's much easier for me to get involved in a conversation online than IRL. I don't want to analyze that too much. If I'm tipsy I become more social and I'm typically a very silly happy drunk. Underneath the jokes I'm a very serious person but underneath that there's another layer of silly that comes out when I've been drinking. I like to keep the serious me very well insulated.

:) DU gets a taste of what I'm really like. I'm a liberal woman who cares about people, animals, and the world. I'm intelligent, warm, and caring, and I've got a warped sense of humor that won't quit. :P And I'm not afraid of my inner slut. And I've got a deviant streak a mile wide.

27. I couldn't tell you - I'm not really sure
who I even am anymore.

The Stranger Lyrics (Billy Joel)

Well we all have a face
That we hide away forever
And we take them out and
Show ourselves
When everyone has gone
Some are satin some are steel
Some are silk and some are leather
They're the faces of the stranger
But we love to try them on

Well we all fall in love
But we disregard the danger
Though we share so many secrets
There are some we never tell
Why were you so surprised
That you never saw the stranger
Did you ever let your lover see
The stranger in yourself?

Don't be afraid to try again
Everyone goes south
Every now and then
You've done it, why can't
Someone else?
You should know by now
You've been there yourself

Once I used to believe
I was such a great romancer
Then I came home to a woman
That I could not recognize
When I pressed her for a reason
She refused to even answer
It was then I felt the stranger
Kick me right between the eyes

Well we all fall in love
But we disregard the danger
Though we share so many secrets
There are some we never tell
Why were you so surprised
That you never saw the stranger
Did you ever let your lover see
The stranger in yourself?

Don't be afraid to try again
Everyone goes south
Every now and then
You've done it why can't
Someone else?
You should know by now
You've been there yourself

You may never understand
How the stranger is inspired
But he isn't always evil
And he is not always wrong
Though you drown in good intentions
You will never quench the fire
You'll give in to your desire
When the stranger comes along.

29. In real life, I'm a really nice guy.
I'm non-confrontational, and I don't like to say anything that might make someone upset. DU gives me the chance to occasionally push those boundries.

I am also slightly less "Richie Cunningham"-ish when I'm alone with my woman.

33. A lot nastier than a lot of people would ever give me credit for....
people think I'm so nice and sweet (blah!) because I come across sort of reserved to people who don't know me that well.
Even friends and family probably think I'm nicer than I really am.

I've let loose, said things to people I probably shouldn't have.....done things I'm ashamed of......resent people more than they would ever know.
