1. Yep. My brother has had one for twelve years.
A beat-up tiny little green Mazda pickup. Not at all a gas-guzzling machine like bigger trucks. (although some Mazda's are bigger than others).

He still drives it around and it's going strong. 180,000+ miles. :)

Mazdas and Hondas are nice reliable cares, but designed for shorties like me. :)

2. the mazda pickup is basically the small ford pickup
different badge that's all. I think it's made here in the USA. I totally trust Mazda's mostly made in Japan , but not the ones here.

3. Since they worked out the bugs with the rotor seals
back in the '70s, the Mazda rotary engine has had an excellent reputation for reliability. I know one guy who put more than 300,000 miles on his.

I don't know about the rest of it, though. Vehicle reliability is not confined to the engine.

4. I used to own one.
Yeah, it was quite reliable. It was a 1990 and I finally got rid of it in 2001 with a ton of miles on it. The only major problems were the a/c and the water pump had to be replaced. It always started though.

8. Yup - I had one for 16+ years
a/c and water pump were the only problems - but only after 180K.

I had a large Chevy pickup rear-end me one time (the asshole was doing 55 mph when he hit me)

4 cars were totaled in the pile up.

My little Mazda made mincemeat outta the Chevy and was the only vehicle that drove away (and no serious injuries).

My replacement vehicle was another B-200.

Tough little trucks.

6. Thanks for the responses
We may be in the market for a new (or new to us) truck shortly. I also like the Toyota Tacoma but they're so darned expensive. It will probably be between the Mazda B2300 and the Toyota Tacoma or a nice used Prerunner.

Damn I wish Mitsubishi still made their little MightyMax!

13. I had one
It was an pretty good truck.
One thing though. If you ever have the front oil seal rings replaced, have the rear one done too.I didn't and the pressure differential blew out the rear seal and allowed tranny fluid to get sucked into the engine.Goodbye engine!

15. It's a Ford Ranger, very reliable I have
owned 5 of them since they came out in 83. Some people buy the Mazda because they have a better warranty than the Ford.

17. I have an '81 B2000 longbed. Runs even though it shouldn't
I basically treated the thing like crap for the period where it was my primary vehicle. It was a good little truck, started every day.

Drove it for the next 7 yrs...took me to Washington DC twice, Kansas Univ, and all over Texas. It was a great little truck. Very reliable and never had problems with it. Great little truck.
