What do you do if you have no job, no future, and no hope...
when you know full well, under different circumstances, that you could have so much more?

22. I eventually found myself doing something else quite by accident
And it turned into a career. I started as a temporary with no intention of doing what I do today (probably because the job I work at today did not exist 15 years ago). Going to that temp agency was the best move I ever made.

10. You have to think positive.
Life IS what you make it. Every day tell yourself that it's a nice day,a good day. I know that sounds cheesy, but it works.

13. I consider what George Bernard Shaw said:
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them."

There is some truth in this, IMHO...

15. no hope???
pray the prayer for the hopeless:

Prayer For Hopeless Cases

“Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so hopeless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly – (here make your request) and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever. I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen”

16. I would change my perspective to a more empowering one...
one that uplifts me, rather than deflates my energy. I would spend time thinking positively about what it is I truly want to attract into my life, in terms of job, future, relationship, etc.

I would affirm my intention to live in POSSIBILITY, rather than in Fear.

You're right, you CAN have so much more. You are Abundant by nature, Writer. We all are.

18. Ain't no such animal as 'no hope'
If I thought so, I wouldn't have survived the last three years.

The great thing about hope is it's free. And if you have hope, you have a future.

Different circumstances may well have brought different results, but you don't have those circumstances. You can play the cards you're dealt or you can fold.

I choose to play.

23. Perhaps be screened for depression?
You're being very cryptic, but I also would stop dwelling in the what ifs and start dealing with the what is.

Next, I would look into changing my circumstances. Unless you are in a cage, you are not "trapped." It may not happen overnight, but make a plan and work toward it.

And, I really meant the first statement. If you need some help, get it.

24. Pick a direction and start walking/biking.
Put your crap in storage and pay as many months ahead as you can. Get some good shoes and/or a mountian bike and cargo trailer. Read up everything you can on the internet about ultra-light camping.

Get cardboard sign- Walking America for Peace. Start walking. (or biking)

The good people of this nation will take care of you, listen to your sorrows and send you on to their friends. I promise. The farther you are from home the better you will be treated.

As soon as my kids are old enough I am doing this. At 13 and 10 right now my girls need me at home.

25. I would sing the song of the crows
"you can't win
you can't break even
and you can't
quit the game."

But remember also the words of the prophet Mickey Mouse
"If at first you can't succeed. Try, try again."
