Can I get a recommend on a newly released CD on classics, like
big band/jazz/vocal older tunes that resonate today?
I think Natalie Cole came out with one that I'll be looking for, I bought a Nancy Wilson one for Dad (don't know if it was old or new), but I'm looking for someone (besides Rod Stewart:eyes: ;) < - - smilies placed for Stewart fans) of the male persuasion to round out part of my X-mas gift.
Thanks for any input.

since I'm a HUGH Smokey Robinson fan - have you checked out his newest CD?

"Timeless Love"

3. Of course - I'm very prejudiced when it comes to this guy ......
he has redone some of the old classics in his typical 'Smokey' style - and they are tremendous - IMHO, of course.

Some of the selections are: "Time After Time"
"Night and Day"
"I'm In The Mood For Love"
"Fly Me To The Moon"
"Our Love Is Here to Stay"
"I've Got You Under My Skin"

and several more.... check it out - hope you like it!

7. I'm looking for a new CD of old standards by a kick-ass artist.
And if Tony's doing old standards (again?!), he fits the bill. It's for my dad who is 78, loves big band and standards and country and early rock and roll and... he loves music!

and he was rocking. Did a great cover of the Stones 'Honky Tonk Women'.....I could have done without the Kid Crock screeching though.

11. I'm quite fond of my Gene Krupa anthology
I bought it a couple years ago after finding out he was a major influence on Keith Moon. One of the few jazz drummers big enough to lead his own band but the anthology covers his work with others like Benny Goodman. It's mostly instrumental but has a few vocal tracks.

Or you could just see if any of the old Squirrel Nut Zippers CDs are still available
