First Grader Brings Bag Of Cocaine To School
<snip>

LEESBURG, Fla. -- Authorities were investigating where a first grade student got a bag of cocaine that he brought to school.

The 6-year-old boy was found at Beverly Shores Elementary School on Tuesday with half a gram of cocaine after a classmate saw the drugs, Capt. Ginny Padgett said. The boy said he either found the drugs while playing at his apartment complex or someone slipped it into his pocket, Padgett said.

"It's sad that you had a first-grader carrying drugs of any kind on campus," Padgett said.

Deputies were questioning the boy's family and friends. The Department of Children and Families also was investigating.

"Is he a victim and come across something bad like drugs that could have killed him or did he know what he was doing?" Padgett said.

1. Just the opposite happened to me once...
True story,

I was running a bag of baking soda across campus due to a friend's battery acid
emergency...

Stopped by the Campus Mounties.

I said, "Like, hey, man... I dig this looks bad, but, I've got to like get this
stuff to my rapidly dissolving friend, dudes."

One of the officers knowingly dipped his finger into the white powder... (I always
wondered how they'd know what it tastes like *scratches head* ) Anyway, his smug
expression rapidly changed to a yuck face as the robust baking soda flavor hit
his drug sensitized palate.

They returned me to my mission of mercy.

I learned two things that day... 1) Don't run across a college campus with a transparent
baggy of white powder. 2) Dropping a lead acid battery is a no-no.

Okay.
