I went outside, and stepped on her foot accidentally. How does one apologize to the cat?

1. Just...apologize

Sit cat on your lap, or right next to you if cat is that mad. :P Scratch cat under chin. Look into cat's eyes and, well, apologize. Gently rub cat's ears.

2. She'll have none of that...

I tried to give her a big gob of cream cheese even (her favorite) and she won't come near me. She just sits and glares at me. She can hold a grudge for a long time. I shutthe tip of her tail in the garage door once by accident and she wouldn't come near me for two days.

Try corned beef - that usually gets me at least paroled, if not completely off the hook. :)
