Hey Everybody, I'm a Narc
I went to the pharmacy to buy some OTC allergy/sinus medicine last night, and because i like my medicine to actually do something when i take it, i wanted the stuff with pseudoephedrine in it. so i pull the little card thingy from the shelf and go over to the super-helpful and friendly pharmacist.

the super-helpful and friendly pharmacist (let's call her Adolph) takes the card and thinks it will be great fun to play 20 Questions...what do you want this for, what are your symptoms, have you considered Brand Whatever that doesn't have the apparently controlled substance pseudoephedrine, why are you trying to make meth, what is your link with bin laden...then asks for my id. i give her my out-of-state driver's license (i moved here several months ago and haven't gotten over to the DMV, which apparently puts you at the top of the pharmacy shit list.) well that almost sent the super-helpful and friendly pharmacist into apopleptic shock. "Are you here on vacation?" "Why don't you have valid id?" My license isn't expired, just out of state. So she writes it all up in her little book, and makes a joke about how we all have to do our part to fight drugs.

So now i've been drafted into the drug war. watch out, junkies, i'm on the case.

2. I can fax you some pseudoephedrine if you need it....
:P There's a huge display in the front of the local grocery store that says, "COLD AND FLU CENTER". No ID checks, no waiting, no Homeland Security screening... Of course, if you buy more than one box, they call the cops...

5. Yes, they are...
:eyes: And this cold and flu season is supposed to be terrible. :( BTW, try TheraFlu powder---mix it with hot water and drink it---it works VERY well! And no crystal meth, either!!!

4. I got the same treatment at costco last week
I just wanted advil cold and sinus but you'd have thought I was asking for a deadly serious drug. Now I don't know how people make meth but I seriously doubt that the amount I bought would make any. Now my name is on "the list".

Geez, whatever you do don't move to the Ohio valley because you will become allergic within five years and you too will need pseudoephedrine or a prescription from an MD. Big Brother sheesh!

7. here's my thing...is there really a master list?
seems like its just a hassle...and even if i'm on a list, so friggin' what? i need my pills, man!

whatever the OTC stuff that's actually available on the shelf is doesn't cut it. the hard stuff is the only thing that gets the job done.

15. Well, Wal-Mart wouldn't give me contact lenses
because the prescription I gave them was for Acuvue and they only had Acuvue2.

I promptly took my business to lensesforless.com and told Wal-Mart why. In all fairness, you could have informed her you were going to a competing drug store.

Anyway, we here at DU may have to stage an intervention and get you into rehab. We don't need allergy junkies running around NOT sneezing. SNEEZE! It lets us know you're not high on pseudoephedrine. Let DU be your anti-drug. :silly:
