I want to wish you and your family a joyful Thanksgiving. I love this cherished holiday that brings us together to celebrate with family and friends.

As we say thanks for our own blessings, Thanksgiving is also a time to think of those in need. I am always inspired that so many Americans reach out to our neighbors during the holidays. I hope that this year, you'll share in that tradition, whether by volunteering your time or making a donation to a charity.

This year, once again, thousands of families will have to celebrate without their loved ones who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Let us keep the brave men and women serving our country overseas in our thoughts and prayers, on Thanksgiving and all year long. Their continuing sacrifice is something we should all be thankful for, and I know that all Americans look forward to the day they can be reunited with their families.
