Advice on replacing pull cord on Tecumseh 6HP engine. |
|
My kid's go-cart recoil cord needs to be replaced. I've replaced them on lawnmowers before, but on those lawnmowers, the pull-cord guard could be removed by removing four screws. On this go-cart, the guard is riveted in place.
Anyone know what all I'll have to remove to get to the pull-cord? From what I've seen by quick inspection, it looks like I'm going to have to start by removing the gas tank. UGGGH.
Thanks for any advice.

This one is riveted where your image has screws.

3. Well, if the rivets are the only problem |
|
you can drill 'em out and use short nuts 'n' bolts or sheet-metal screws in their stead.

4. Can you take a picture of it |
|
and post it? You could drill the rivets out if you knew what size they are. Then just replace them with new rivets or screws.
