Anyone else out here on DU an artist?
Hi y'all. I'm Heather, the girl who does the Morning Leibowitz (the Daily Show comic strip takeoff). I had an idea last night and want to offer it out to you guys. Does anyone else on DU draw pictures of people well? I'm looking for someone who might want to do an Evening Colbert or something as partner to the Leibowitz. I love Stephen Colbert and want to do more with him. But I'm buried under turning out a near-daily comic starring Cartoon Jon Stewart. If you know how to draw Stephen Colbert pretty good (yes, English majors: cringe), you know how The Colbert Report is done, and you've got some good ideas for The Word, would you care to contact me? We can play together! :D

Not expecting much response on this, but... ya never know

3. If you guys hear of anybody, run into anyone on DU...
Please hollaback at me, as they say... meanwhile I'm trying out a Leibowitz with Samantha Bee in it this time. I need to include more correspondents. I'm kind of lazy about that because I consider Stephen Colbert to have been the best correspondent Stewart ever had, and all the others are boring pretenders to the throne. Fair is fair, though. Here goes... Bee.

4. YOU do that one?
Wow. I'm impressed.

Nope. Not an artist. If I were an artist I would've done graphic novels too.

6. Awesome...
Yeah, I would've done graphic novels if I'd have ever met an author who wasn't a bit too much of a flake to actually sit down and do the art. LOL

Have you read my latest post?

9. Read and recommended for Greatest
I especially enjoyed the part where you highlighted that this new Congress is unafraid of science. We've needed a progressive Congress like that one for the longest time, and the possibilities ahead actually have me excited. I agree with you, Mythsaje, that the future ahead of us is a challenging but bright one. I refuse to give in to the doomsayers. I refuse.

We are going to change this nation and this world.
Watch the next twelve years.

and I'd love for people to get a little hope for a change.

12. You have a good clean style
I frickin' love manga and anime. My favorite manga of all time is Sho Fumimura's Sanctuary. Have you read it?

It's here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctuary_%28manga%29

13. Never read it, I'll have to keep an eye out
My all time favorite is Kaori Yuki's Tenshi Kinryoku (called Angel Sanctuary in the US). Although recently I've taken a liking to Death Note and Bleach.

I can do the whole professional look, but I can't say that doing stick figures is considered drawing.
