How ironic. The bread I've been working on since 7:00 flopped. |

There's a joke in there somewhere, but right now I'm very disappointed. I can't find my cookbooks since I moved and I tried a recipe I've not used before. I was going to take this to a friend's gathering tomorrow, but I don't think I can. I wonder if I should get up early tomorrow, buy more yeast and try again. :(
Night y'all. :(

I'm so sorry..........
I know you've gone to bed, but hopefully you'll see this tomorrow...
It is very disappointing when recipes don't perform up to expectations...
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving in spite of it! :loveya:

I'm sorry, lizziegrace. Yeast and I don't agree on such matters, either. Better luck next try. And Happy Thanksgiving! :toast:

5. Funny you should mention that |

It's 7:15 Thanksgiving morning. I've got 5 hours to either find the box the cookbooks are in or find a recipe online.
I've baked this bread for years (since college) but since I only make it during the holidays, I don't have the recipe committed to memory.
Okay, once more with feeling...

With all the bread talk yesterday, I thought failure was not even an option. ;)

11. Lizzie, just cook this up instead: |
|
3-2-1 Beer Bread
3 Cups self-rising flour 2 Tbs. Sugar 1 12 oz beer
Combine all, mix JUST until everything is combined; do not over-mix. Let sit 15 min. Bake 1 hour ; maybe give and extra 15 min.; at 350.
YUM!!
Feel free to add herbs or cheese to mix.

13. Round 2 is in the kitchen rising |
|
This one actually seems more promising.
If it doesn't work, they'll have to be happy with the bottle of wine and the bottle of Bailey's I'm bringing. Enough alcohol and no one will miss the bread. :)
