You can actually make your own.

Get a big piece of whitefish. Soak it in lye. Lay it out on a board in the sun for 3 days to dry. Throw the fish away and eat the board.

Cooking instructions, from my Norwegian Grand Uncle:

Big pot of boiling water.
Big highball glass full of whiskey.
Put the fisk into the water.
Drink half the highball of whiskey.
Turn off the boiling pot of water.
Drink the rest of the whiskey and who the hell cares if the fisk is done or not?

Gods. I ate lutefisk every Christmas Eve for 30 years or more. Quivering steaming masses of it..wobbling on a platter, drenched in butter/cream sauce.

Back away, man. Just walk away.
