Lost Plantation acreage could help commissioners resolve sewer plant problems

north Rincon off Blue Jay Road and McCall Road. The sewer plant started operating earlier this year, but still is not in full compliance with EPD standards regarding discharging treated wastewater.

County officials initially said treated affluent would be extensively filtered through a new system that had more environmental benefits. As a result, the sewer plant's only discharge would be high quality water that could be reused for multiple purposes, officials said three years ago. Treated affluent water in the past has been filtered to certain standards and then dumped into rivers, tributaries or onto land.
