The Great Thanksgiving Turkey Fry Off has begun.
My buddy Carl down the street with the amazing outdoor kitchen has his cookers cranked up and ready to go.
One propane, and one...ELECTRIC?
Damn. That just ain't right.

It's completely silent and automatically maintains the proper temperature.
No roaring propane burner and no open flame.
And he got it at...WALMART.
:-(
No constant adjusting of the valve to keep the temp at 350.
Where's the delicious feeling of high risk and danger in that?
That subtle adrenalin rush?

Hell, now ANYBODY can deep fry a turkey.
Your baby sitter.
Little old ladies.
5 year old kids.

Carl was always my ideal of the mucho macho good ol' boy.
Another icon gone.
:-(

Oh well, the turkeys sure smell good.
Happy Thanksgiving all.

1. Carl just delivered my turkey breast.
Beautiful.
Golden brown and extra crispy skin.
Tomorrow's sandwiches.

3. You lucky dog.
There's nothing like that crispy bit of skin on turkey slices.

5. We fried the turkey at 12 noon, in a electric cooker, just felt safer.
The turkey and the chickens cooked well, no problems.

We will be eating at 2 PM, just waiting for a few of the neighbors to get home from work.

Deep fried turkey is the only way to go.

7. I was never a big fan of turkey until now.
Frying the turkey is faster and just makes the turkey taste better.
