OMG! MrSeattleGirl has NEVER heard Alice's Restaurant!
I could excuse it if he were in his 20's but he's just a few months shy of 50. :wow:

1. He's probably just not remembering it.
either that, or he's been living under a rock these past years. :D

on of our favorite local radio stations plays it several times, throughout the day, every Thanksgiving. It's a classic.

hugs and love to you, darlin'! HOpe you're having a great day. I'm thankful for our friendship.

:loveya:

2. I played a little of it for him, and he'd heard OF it, but said he had
never heard it. Been tellin' him for years he would fit perfectly in a 1950's family sitcom -- guess I was right!

I'm thankful for our friendship too, Shine. Have a great Thanksgiving!

8. I'm 50, and I'm hearing it right now for the third time
The third time today, that is.

That makes 81 8x10 color glossy photos with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explainin' what they was.

:hippie:

I gotta idea: For the remainder of the weekend, call your husband "kid."

49. You are so not near 50! what is your secret?
while it does seem like so much has happened since I met you a couple years ago on Inauguration/Coronation day it was only less than 2 years ago and I would've guessed you ten years younger. what is your secret? I'm nearly 35 and trying to stave off the wear and tear of the bushco years on my face!

23. Yeah, when you look at it from the perspective of a 51 year old
But then, I fell pretty young, my own self. All a matter of perspective. Look at my post further down the thread, as I have linked an MP3 and a video to Alice's Restaurant. The song is relevant to today.

I dropped it in the general 'pop' bin because of what it isn't - classical, jazz, C&W, etc.

Lots of folks love the movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas", but I've tried to watch it twice, and both times fell asleep. I NEVER fall asleep during movies.
