1. Yum Yum , congrats on a successful turkey dinner!
It sure looks good.

:)

I've never done or heard of 'brine'? Is that what you were injecting? I've cooked for at least 35 years and this is the first I've heard of that.

19. We have a thing or two on our fridge that has/have been there for up to 22 yrs.
Not the same fridge, but just favorite stuff like that. The 'rents have a small poster that has been on their succession of fridges since the mid '70s.

21. Did you use a cage for the stuffing?
I first heard of it this year. Supposed to eliminate the task of scrapping out the stuffing from the cavity after cooking. My aunt tried it today. The stuffing in the cage didn't cook completely, while the turkey was already done. Had to remove the cage and finish cooking the stuffing separately.

I used to use an electric knife, but I find a quality, sharp chefs knife wonderful to use. There's an aesthetic sense to carving without mechanical assistance - like flying a bi-plane vs. a corporate jet. (Sorry got a little carried away with the analogy).

The turkey looks delicious!

:)

23. No, I scooped it out and finished it in the oven with the excess
While the turkey was resting and the green beans were roasting :)

If I could afford a nice Chef's knife right now, I'd have it, believe me...But, as I don't, the electric is preferable to the dull knives I do have...y'know? :)

and thank you!!! :pals:

I bet everyone in your home is stuffed right now. ;) I enjoyed the pic story. And you do not look like a dork -- you can't be expected to look like your absolute best while sticking your hand in the business end of a turkey. :P
