Poll question: If all people grew tails, would you have yours surgically removed? |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-23-06 10:12 PM by Boojatta
Cats and dogs have tails. What if people also grew them? Suppose that there's no bandwagon effect. About half of all people have their tails surgically removed. The rest keep them. What would you do? Would you have yours removed?
Edited to clarify a bit.

1. I'd keep it, especially if it was really furry. |

I envy my cats' ability to wrap their tails around their feet. If I had a nice bushy tail I could warm my feet with it.

When I was a lab rat working in a genetics research lab, I often wished I had one - extra appendage with which to snag test tubes and pipettes and such. Unfortunately, our research did not have anything to do with restoring tails. :P
From an evolutionary standpoint, I think losing the tail was a bad idea.

I read the book Age of the Tail as a kid, and thought it was a cool idea. I'd keep my tail if I had one, even if it was uncommon to have. Heck, especially if it was uncommon.
I went to school with a girl with no navel, and I envied her so much! She could just wear a two-piece swimsuit and amaze people.

They look like skinny sausages attached to their rear ends.

It happens sometimes. Human embryos have tails, and normally the tail is resorbed during development, but occasionally it isn't and you get a tailed human. Most parents have tails removed (like extra fingers and even extra nipples) in the interest of creating a "normal" appearance.

I'd curl it up around my body when I went to bed like my cats do. Then I could just go ahead and totally become a cat and get it over with. I hope mine is nice and fluffy if I get one. :D

My tail would very much indicate the status of my ass-kicking endeavors - for example, it my tail was swishing violently you'd know you were about to get your ass kicked ROYALLY. Yes INDEED!!

15. If half the population kept them |

then I assume there'd be common accomidatoins for comfortable seating etc...so I'd keep mine. Bonus if it were prehensile!
