3. No, I've been listening to it for months, but just today got a chance
to follow along with the lyrics. Powerful writing. I love that band.

4. I do too.
I was so happy when I discovered that they had made such a record as that. It's fantastic. I'd powerful musically as well. I love how they emphasize certain words to get the meaning across.

10. I love Green Day too.
I wonder if that technique of emphasizing certain words for that purpose is something that they learned from Dylan. He does it a lot... more live than in the studio, I think.

American Idiot is such a great song.. I was listening to it on Nov. 8 as I walked to my polling place.

11. I listened to it on the way to vote too.
Plus the song Mosh, by Eminem. I don't listen to him much, but that one song is about voting against Bush, so I make an exception there.

Another great band with great lyrics like that is Dead Kennedys. Their song, "When Ya Get Drafted" really says it all. It could easily be updated for today.

the SUBLIMINAL MINDFUCK AMERICA...

:woohoo:

it's one of the most punk songs/videos I'd seen in ages and ages, at least that got that far into the pop mainstream

Blink 182 Star Latest Celebrity To Question 9/11

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/delonge%20offers%20911%20conspiracy%20theory%20on%20radio%20show_1002234

Outspoken punk star TOM DeLONGE has gone public with his conspiracy theories about the 9/11 terrorist attacks on a San Diego, California, radio show. Guest hosting a show on the city's 91X network recently, the former BLINK 182 star offered his own opinions about the 2001 atrocities as he chatted with Scholars For 9/11 Truth founder JAMES FETZER. DeLonge said, "It (World Trade Center) came down in a fashion similar to a controlled demolition. "The expertise that is needed to fly those gigantic planes into that exact location could never have been achieved by someone who just learned how to fly a small plane."

6. Thank God someone noticed!
I've posted the lyrics here about five times over the past six months or so, in various music-relate threads, and nobody has so much as commented on how good they are.

I'm very glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks so.

8. that's because it is a lousy Green Day album
I love the lyrics, but Dookie and International Superhits outclass American Idiot easily. but to each his/her own, :hi:

9. Gasp!
Are we listening to the same album. I digress musically, but lyrically, American Idiot skunks the rest of their albums. :hi:

12. Happy to read these this morning.
I'll be listening to AI as I ride by bike to a job interview today. Funny, with my obsessions over Lukas and Dylan, and this is the only CD I've really been listening to lately.
