I'm nearly 40 and sleeping on an air mattress at my parents house |
|
and having to sneak a drink of scotch from a bottle in my suitcase when my parents go to bed.
Gotta love the holidays. :)

1. Well at least you're not reading comics under the covers with a flashlight. |
|
At least I hope you're not.

5. I notice in your profile that you like cigars. |
|
Just a word to the wise...when you light up on your air mattress with a scotch beverage next to you...well, just make sure your parents are sound sleepers.
(I checked your profile because I was prepared to offer you a real bed and a glass of scotch out in the open, but then I realized that you are a holiday traveler far away from home!)

6. And no cigars either!! |
|
It's raining like crazy outside and like 40 degrees! Barely can stand being outside long enough for a cigarette, never-mind a good cigar.
Me wanna go home. :(

12. The last time my folks and I were together, they were visiting me |

and my husband and we were the ones sleeping on the blow up mattress and sneaking a drink and cigs in the back bedroom! So I can relate! But God Bless them, Mom has now passed, and it is a funny fond memory. So enjoy while you still have them.

7. Did you bring your significant other? My mother made us sleep in |
|
different rooms -- that was when I was divorced but engaged to another man I intended to marry!
On another vacation, my mother gave me the keys to her car, but also said I had a curfew of 11 PM! (I was in my 30s at the time!) She said that if I came in any later, the sound of me flushing the toilet and washing my face... might wake my Dad and her.

9. Yeah, my wife, 2 daughters and one of our 2 dogs. |
|
Wife is on a couch, kids are in sleeping bags and don't know where the dog is.
My parents recently downsized to a much smaller place, so accommodations are limited. Still nice to see them, but there is no place like home. :)

10. Yup. Dad is a minister. |
|
He knows I drink, but I just don't want to force him to accept it in his house and all. It's his house. So, I wait for him to go to bed, get a glass and enjoy a drink before bed.

18. There are no hotels/motels nearby ? |
|
I stopped that Kabuki Dance at 23, the first time home after I had a job. Nice hotel room right outside of town. 3 miles away.
It was great...no muss no fuss...GF and I got to enjoy our Holiday Sex and slept late the next day.
I recommend it highgly.

19. Yeah, there are hotels kind of nearby |
