I'm so fucking bored.
I just moved not too long ago, and I still have no friends in this area. I live with my in-laws, and I try to hang out with my brothers in law, but everytime I have a night off (I work third-shift), they're never doing anything. I can never hang out with my wife, because we can't get child care for our children.

I should totally cry a river. This is a problems that ranks right up there with poverty and war, right? lol :sarcasm:

1. Well, you still have us.
Read rawstory.com, crooksandliars, or go watch the old Dailyshows or Colbert Reports.

6. I know, there are plenty of things I do.
I'm actually looking for jobs on the internet.

But I hate never getting out. It's not about partying; I never do that anymore. I just like to get out for a movie or dinner or something once in a while. Even once a month or so.

so you all could get out. sorry you have no one around to help you. i was like that the first handful of years with little ones, never a break, never anyone around to help. now i am perfectly content hanging around the house. what a decade will do.

9. I shouldn't say "bored."
I just like to get out without the kids sometimes -- dinner or movie or whatever. But I never get to lately.

This is not like a very big problem or anything. I was just posting some thoughts for discussion.
:-)

19. What's the good of living with in-laws if they won't babysit?
Isn't that what grandma and grandpa are supposed to be all about?

7. No one but you has to live your life.
When it sucks, you don't have to feel guilty about acknowledging it. Saying it makes people who can relate feel better knowing how it sucks to be you.

8. A listening meditation
In a new place, sometimes like a woman, a place needs to be heard, embraced and loved,
as you dance in her luminous fibres, yes?

14. I know.
Sometimes my wife and I would like to have time to ourselves, too, though. And we never do. Actually, this is much worse for her. At least I get to go to work. She's stuck in this house every second and she's going kind of nuts.

25. Yes, games are a good idea
I am sure that you can google and find some good ones. I liked one called SET to play with kids, it's fast (they always seem to win) and is an inexpensive card game. There are a ton of good ones out there, just look around.

23. I work 3rd shift too
it sucks, I know how you feel Im always awake when everyones asleep and vise versa and you can only read so much. I'm up to a book a day and still freak'n bored out of my mind. I got a TIVO and now i watch a lot of seinfeld and ED so lifes gotten better.

any way my advice is take walks. I have been taking walks for a while now and i feel much better. I got the advice from a Ganhi book in which he accredits his good health and strength to avoiding convenience, i.e. cars, so I started. Try it.

24. isn't southwestern michigan close to chicago?
or are you in the other chunk of michigan. y'know, the one that doesn't look like a mitten. 'cause if you did, i'd just run through the internet to see what's going on on chicago and go grab my significant other, and the kid, and go enjoy a night on the town.

either that or buy some bath beads, some candles, slap on some power ballads, and go help calgon take your spouse away. don't need the holidays to justify giving foot rubs. or you could play mindsweeper until your eyes dry out and your wrist starts to twitch...
