Do you have a favorite music video?
My fav is Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt". I know lots of folks like NIN's original, but having grown up listening to JC, I have to go with his version of it. And, I've seen a lot of music video's, but this one touched my soul.

1. Two have stuck with me
- Victim of Love, Robert Palmer
- If I could turn back time, Cher. I served in the Navy and seeing Cher cavort on the battleship with the Sailors was quite a sight.

14. I was going to say "Victim of Love" too.
It's literally the first one that popped into my head when I read the thread title. One of the girls who appeared in that video was in this year's UK Big Brother - she now has an enormously enhanced chest that she showed off constantly.

Poor Robert Palmer. He died way too young.

Re the Cher video - when it first came out, I remember reading that Cher's son Elijah (who she had with Gregg Allman) was touring with her in her band at the time. You can't help but wonder what he thought of his mother prancing around wearing very little in front of the US Navy!

15. "Victim" is the ultimate oldie but goodie
Cher was in outstanding form for her video and the boys loved her gracing their ship and hunching their 16 incher. Such a video would never be produced today on a US Ship. How sad!

Called "Fat" - the whole dialogue in the beginning is hilarious.

"Yo, Ding-Dong, man, Ding-Dong."

25. Check out Hot Water Music's album "Caution" then.
Definitely a modern punk classic.

And Murder By Death's "Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left Of Them" is one of the best albums of the decade in my opinion. (But I'm probably way off, haha.)

26. 4 C-mases ago -
my older son (then 9) got an electronic drum set and the younger one (4) got a pretend electric guitar with microphone.

There was a prerecorded song on the drum set and they danced and sang to it in their underwear on Christmas morning. . . . BEST MUSIC VIDEO EVER!!

28. There's one perennial fave, and it's this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ap0p7mhu4w0

The Replacements' "Bastards of Young." If you've never seen it, stick with it to the end.

And here's one I made:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEhPXDpo2KM

I obviously have to work a bit to achieve the minimalism of the Replacements one.

Can't be described as anything but art. It's about the Iraq war from a shell shocked soldier's perspective. Very poignant.
