Pillsbury crescent rolls are destroying my life.
I Cannot Stop Eating Them.

I'm not usually even into rolls, and if I dabble in pastry it's usually something pretty high-quality, and in limited amounts. My Mom served the crescent rolls for Thanksgiving and I took some home...

Save me! It's pastry crack! :scared:

19. The obituary was published today...
Veteran Pillsbury spokesman Pop N. Fresh died yesterday of a severe yeast infection. He was 71. Known to friends as Brown-n-Serve, Fresh was an avid gardener and tennis player.

Fresh was buried in one of the largest funeral ceremonies in recent years. Dozens of celebrities turned out including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Aunt Jemima, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Skippy.

The grave side was piled high with flours as longtime friend Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy, describing Fresh as a man who "never knew how much he was kneaded."

Fresh rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with many turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes -- conned by those who buttered him up. Still, even as a crusty old man, he was a roll model for millions.

Fresh is survived by his second wife. They have two children and another bun in the oven.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

pinch sealed the perforations. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on a round of Brie cheese. Turn the Brie over and center it on the Crescent Rolls. Wrap the Brie in the overhang and turn over on a baking sheet sprayed with Pam. Bake at 400 degrees until golden. Let sit for about 10 minutes before cutting.

Baked Brie. Yum.

Much easier than using phyllo dough to make it.

15. let me just send my brother over to your house
I made a huge double batch of brownies the night before thanksgiving. Every one was over at my parent's for Thanksgiving, I think there were about ten of us. At the end of the night I went to get one of my brownies and there were only a few left. My mother tells me she gave them all to my brother to take home with him. I was peeved, almost enough to start a thread on it. I can understand a few, but ALL of them except like three? "Well, he really likes them." Then he can make some himself. "But he won't." (He's 33). Well, then his wife can make some for him. "But she won't". (She's 27). I know this is minor, but it just stuck in my craw a little bit.

17. Drink water, do some sit ups. Seriously, break the sugar pattern!!
trust me, I have to follow my own advice, too. :D

for me, once I start going on the sugar and carbs it's all down hill from there......

I've been going down hill since about mid Oct. Ugh.

Oh well, it's all part of the ebb and flow of our lives. It's hard this time of year to go without all that stuff.

I'm not into deprivation. Moderation is key.

Good luck! :hi:

27. Add some apple pie filling
and then crimp the edges with a wet fork. Deep fry until golden brown. Sprinkle with cinnamon & sugar. The best way to eat crescent rolls. :9

Or you can bake them but deep frying is so much better for you.

31. Try them with smoked gouda.
Unroll two crescents at a time (in a rectangle) and seal the peforation. Place some thin slices of smoked gouda in the center, then pull up the corners to form a packet around the cheese. Bake until the dough is golden and the cheese melted.

34. This will put you over the edge--cinnamon rolls made with crescent rolls.
My friend had a Pampered Chef party a few weeks ago, and I spent $60 buying the stuff to make cinamon rolls (not that you need that actual stuff to make them, but you know what I mean). We've had them ever day this weekend, and I'm becoming seriously addicted. I actually make a quarter recipe--one half of one can, and it makes about 8 tiny rolls--just enough for me (and the dog) without making me feel like a pig.

Mini Cinnamon Rolls
from Pampered Chef

2 cans crescent rolls - 8 oz.
1 stick margarine or butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 tblspns cinnamon
1/4 cup pecans
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tblspns milk

Separate crescent rolls into rectangle and pinch center seam together. Spread melted butter onto each rectangle with pastry brush.

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture onto each rectangle. Add chopped pecans (reserving some for topping), then roll back up from the short end.

Cut each roll into 4-5 pieces. Place slices into deep dish, bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

Mix powdered sugar and milk to form glaze and pour over cinnamon rolls when done. Top with pecans if wanted.
