This movie flew completely under my radar in 2005. I don't remember being invited to a preview and had never seen it before we picked it up on cable tonight.

We thought it was a very well done romance for both kids and grown ups. Even our almost-six year old grandson watched it and didn't budge! Our eight-year-old granddaughter was charmed, too! You may recognize the young boy (Josh Hutcherson) from "Zathura" in which he played one of the brothers, and in "The Polar Express" where he was Hero Boy. The young girl lead, (Charlie Ray), had never been in a film before, but has shown talent in dancing and movie-making.

If you have never seen it, I recommend it highly. Shot entirely in Manhattan, New York City, the city itself becomes a beautiful cinematic character in the story.

It's just too bad that the studio didn't market this movie very well, because, sadly, the box office dollars were just not there in the fall of 2005.

Look for it on DVD or "On Demand" on Comcast cable.

1. My best friend was telling me about this movie last weekend.
We usually have breakfast on Sundays and he told me that he had insomnia the night before and watched this movie. He is usually very critical but he really liked it.

I will look for it -- I think my five year old daughter would love it. (She is VERY precocious.)
