Seems to only do it when I'm in Yahoo Mail.

I have the 2.0 version. It seems to happen especially on Salon where there are a lot of animated ads.

Yahoo's is busy trying to re-invent the wheel with the mail system like they did with the front page.
So it might not be you, it's probably Yahoo.
If anything, update the Flash Player if you haven't done so already.

http://developer.yahoo.net/yui/ All the javascript is killing your browser. A slow computer might be at fault, not Firefox.
