Poll question: How much do you spend on holiday decorations?
I'm amazed at the crap that can be had - hundreds of types of lights, blowup santas, plastic santas, etc. As well as the associated storage containers and bags. People seem to buy it up. How much you have invested in holiday decorations?

1. I own nothing. My mother owns every Hallmark ornament known to man.
I fear that someday, I will inherit them. I suppose there is a collectors market for them. I believe she has an entire room devoted to Christmas crap.

2. This is the first Christmas in my new home...

And my first home at that. So I kind of expanded my decoration budget this year and went a bit overboard. The most expensive purchase was my 18' artifical tree for $1400. Outside decor is a bit limited because I'm not fully aware of our community rules on outdoor decorations.

5. last year I bought a fiberoptic tree (very small)
and this year I bought a pine scented Yankee Candle to make my house smell like the tree I don't have.

That's it.

11. That's what we do in our house...
It's just my dad and me and the last few years I was away at college so there was no point in decorating. If we didn't have that small fiber optic tree, a few nutcrackers on the dining room table and a whole bunch of circulars on the couch, you would never know it was Christmas time in our house.

6. I really don't do Christmas-- certainly no "holiday decorating...."
Sorry. I'm not a christian, so the holiday has no religious significance to me, and the commercialization of it turned me off decades ago. I'm happy for the break from work, but that's about the extent of it.

Edited on Sun Nov-26-06 12:55 PM by AZDemDist6
with a big gold key that says "New House-2006"

other than that, nothing except cards

we have decorations coming out our ears LOL

every year we threaten to buy a new artifical tree but never seem to get around to it, this will be it's 14th year

edit to add, i'll be buying some paper bags, sand and votive lites for our front porch too since it is perfect for luminarias

10. i've spent a lot and i've spent a little.
i guess it depends on if i want to do something very new for christmas.

and they can be anything from a warhol inspired pop psych thing to very traditional.

i think seasonal decorating -- done well -- is a hoot!

and i love christmas.
