before the days of VCRs, I'd stay up to any hour required any night of the week to see that movie.

6. In the liner notes of my soundtrack CD, it states that Betty Comden and
Adolph Green were hired to write the movie around some old songs MGM owned the rights to, all of which were from the 1920s. They sat down to think about what was newsworthy in that decade and came up with the idea for the silents to talkie transition plot. Pretty inspired.

While "SITR" isn't my favorite movie musical..."The Bandwagon" is..."Singin' in the Rain" is a masterpiece. I love it.
