5. I had it before I graduated.
All of the people in my RN program had jobs lined up before we graduated.

6. My summer job during college
became my full-time job right after, and that led to a better job a few years later.

I also know some people who had some trouble finding jobs--but they all did, and you will too. Hang in there.

7. Pretty much right away
I was a journalism major and an ABC station snatched me up right after I graduated. But I quit a little over a year later because of the right wing coverage of the Iraq War. Now I'm doing carpentry and back in school working on my IT degree.

8. A year.
I was eventually laid off by a Bush-loving asshole of a boss, but that's another story.

9. About a week. I got a "temp" job at Berklee College of Music
where I fit in magnificently. In two more weeks I was hired. A great place to work... the people were wonderful and I was surrounded by young folks and musicians. Who could ask for more?

13. I got a job within a few months of graduation.
In fact, I had a whole series of sucktacular jobs, at which I worked for a number of years (seven, actually) until I went back to school, got a graduate degree and finally got a "real" job. Which I hated. After another 17 years I changed careers again, finally ended up at a "real" job I actually like.

but now I'm back in a non real world job. Real world jobs are hard to come by.

I guess I would define real world job as one which I actually could not have gotten without going to college. Most of the jobs I've had could have been handled by a sharp ten year old.

I worked at a temp job over the summer, and then I volunteered for a Presidential campaign until it went bust, then I temped again, and then -- real job!

I was so bad at interviewing back then. I must have gotten rejected from 50 possible jobs before I finally landed one.
