4. I know that one. I made the switch
from Lexapro back to Prozac recently. I'm not sure which is better for me. Dear, I hope Lexapro works for you though. It's a hard bloody road, dealing with this shit.

10. Are you new to Lexapro or an old hand?
My doctor recently upped my dosage of it (dealing with GAD, OCD, and mild depression - fun, eh?).

13. It helps.
I have Xanax for situational anxiety, but I haven't had to use it in months. That's a good thing. I tend not to spend as much time obssessing over things I can't control (gas prices, for instance), but I still succumb to many of my other OCD tendencies (constantly straightening things, as an example). There are other things, and if you're interested, I'd be glad to talk privately via PM.

so if they don't work right away, give them time.

24. New to Lexapro.
I was on it for four months... I had a hopeful friend tell me that it had no side effects. Unfortunately, about the time I made the switch I had another blow, I guess, IRL. I've since made the switch because I found no noticeable difference between the Lexapro and the Prozac except the price, and I am very poor these days.

I want to thank MJC for sending me into a suicidal depression. Thanks, friend. I hope you and N are doing well :hi:

16. To go off on a slight tangent,
it's really time for national healthcare. Last Wednesday was a damn nightmare trying to get another 'scrip for my asthma inhaler. Like I haven't been on it since I was 7. :eyes:

I finally had to break down and go to a doctor here in town (which was 100 bucks), and I figured I may as well ask about antidepressants while I was there.

Antidepressants + asthma meds = 250 bucks for a month's worth.

Like, honestly, that's just not cool at all. :o

18. Yes, not cool at all.
I sometimes daydream what it must be like to think or breathe freely, without meds.

A lot of people don't know how lucky they are.

20. Especially the asthma meds
Like, if I don't take them I *will* wind up in the ER. I've been there many a time, and I don't care to go back.

But paying for meds to stay alive just really burns... x(

I might not be posting right now.

No, it didn't save me from suicide or something. This time of year I usually get depressed to the point that I don't feel like doing much of anything. This year is different.

25. I'm glad.
Have you tried using UV lights? My doctor recommended them but I couldn't bring myself to go to the trouble. Or perhaps it is in your case holiday-related. In either case, I wish you well. :hi:

26. I bought a full-spectrum lamp a month or so ago
But I moved it to the desk where I'm working on my P-51 model because the white light lets me see the detail so well.

It's seasonal with me; not necessarily about the holidays, but about the lesser amount of sunlight.

27. At first I assumed it was SAD, but then, I wasn't sure.
My insurance covers the lamps but I've never bought one. Currently my life is a joke and my STBE husband and I laugh nervously over the form my SAD will take this year.

What's a P-51?

30. If you wanna look at lamps, try this site
It's where I bought mine. http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/

It's the only site I found that explains the difference between lamps.

I'm building a 1/24 scale model of this P-51, shown as flown in WWII by Col. John Landers:

29. Do you like Sushi?
Weirdly enough that can give me a short term boost when I'm down. Otherwise.....walk, walk, walk, walk. Borrow a dog and walk some more.

31. It's interesting that you'd ask that question. I get a boost from really hot, spicy foods when I'm
down. Hot Thai food seems to work fairly well. I haven't really gotten that effect from sushi--even though I adore it.

If only that kind of thing would always work and work for everyone. That would really screw with the pharmaceutical companies!
