Lame music at the doctor's office
:yoiks: I had my annual wellness visit this morning, and as I was waiting for my name to be called, the following music played: Having My Baby (Paul Anka), Feelings, DayBreak (Barry Manilow) and some crappy Air Supply drek. :puke: These were not Muzak versions---they were the original "hits". My irritation level started to rise as I had to wait (why in HELL was I the first appointment of the day at 8 AM and then made to wait until 8:15 to be called???), and this lovely music just compounded it. :P

Just my silly rant for today.... :hi:

2. I'll definitely do that next time.
:hi: They don't pipe music into the exam rooms (thankfully), but the waiting room is just Lame Music Heaven. They also use the same music when you're on hold, so I call there as little as possible. :P

40. Was about to be my suggestion too.
Though the last time I went I took my little brother's PSP. Waiting for three hours why feeling like you're about to die is made slightly less crappy with a game of Grand Theft Auto, haha.

5. True...
:hi: I'm better than well. Thank you for asking, sweetie. :D My doctor told me I'm the only person he's ever seen that has actually gotten YOUNGER. :P He told me that chronologically, I may be older, but what I'm doing to keep myself in shape is phenomenal. I've been going to this doctor for almost 20 years, and he does not sugar-coat anything. :)

Guess it pays to be naughty... :* :loveya:

I always wonder how folks can work in retail this time of year.

I would run screaming out of the store if I had to listen that many times to "Jingle Bell Rock".

edit: as always for typos

But you can't usually hear them over the screaming kids and fighting customers. :D

35. Yeah, me too, but I could have lived without these
Fortunately the music at work is on a four hour loop. ;)

The Heat Miser Song
by Maury Laws and Jules Bass

I'm Mister Green Christmas
I'm Mister Sun
I'm Mister Heat Blister
I'm Mister Hundred and One
They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I'm too much!

He's Mister Green Christmas
He's Mister Sun
He's Mister Heat Blister
He's Mister Hundred and One

They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch

He's too much!

Thank you!
I never want to see a day
That's under sixty degrees
I'd rather have it eighty,
Ninety, one hundred degrees!
(spoken):Oh, some like it hot, but I like it really hot! Hee hee!

He's Mister Green Christmas
He's Mister Sun

Sing it!

He's Mister Heat Blister
He's Mister Hundred and One

They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I'm too much!

Too Much!

The Snow Miser Song
by Maury Laws and Jules Bass

I'm Mister White Christmas
I'm Mister Snow
I'm Mister Icicle
I'm Mister Ten Below
Friends call me Snow Miser
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch
I'm too much!

He's Mister White Christmas
He's Mister Snow

That's right!

He's Mister Icicle
He's Mister Ten Below

Friends call me Snow Miser,
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch

He's too much!

I never want to see a day
That's over forty degrees
I'd rather have it thirty,
Twenty, ten, five and let it freeeeEEEEEEeeze!

He's Mister White Christmas
He's Mister Snow

That's right!

He's Mister Icicle
He's Mister Ten Below

Friends call me Snow Miser,
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch
... too much.

Too Much!

14. It wouldn't be a doctor's office without lame music.
I think the AMA actually requires it, along with old issues of Better Homes and Gardens. Always bring a defensive iPod if you expect a long wait.

And another lame thing... The physician group recently moved into a brand-new suite of offices, and what do they do??? They bring the OLD MAGAZINES from the old place!!!! You're right---lame music and old magazines must be mandated by the AMA. :P

20. *ahem*
I'm lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you till it hurts
I know you hurt too but what else can we do
Tormented and torn apart
I wish I could carry your smile and my heart
For times when my life feels so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know

Chorus:
I 'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I 'm all out of love, what am I without you
I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong

I want you to come back and carry me home
Away from this long lonely nights
I'm reaching for you, are you feeling it too
Does the feeling seem oh so right
And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that I can't hold on
There's no easy way, it gets harder each day
Please love me or I'll be gone, I'll be gone

Chorus

Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?

Chorus(3x)

Oh yes, I'm evil.

24. If I ran a doctor's or dentist's office, I'd play over the sound system
the music I'm listening to right now; Maurice Andre playing Baroque trumpet concertos. I love trumpet concertos. They always sound so happy.

I'd play nothing but classical, and elevate everyone's taste in music. B-)

26. OMG, would that my doctor played classical...
:loveya: My dentist used to play Christian rock, and it was extremely annoying. A lot of people complained because there were non-Christian people who were patients, and it was annoying to them too. Apparently, she lost a lot of patients because of it, and now they play classical. I can deal with it much better now. :D

Right now, it's Telemann's Trumpet Concerto in D. The oboe gives it a nice Elizabethan feel. :-)

I heard "We May Never Pass This Way Again" at DFW one day when it was full of young people in cammo, obviously shipping out.

Yikes - hoping they weren't paying attention to the lyrics and were all too young to know what the song was....

has a tv at every station. Digital cable, too, so there's a couple of hundred channels. The last time I was there, I was watching Rumsfeld resign.

I don't remember what plays at my doctor's office, if anything. Hers is at a clinic in the hospital, so most of the time it's code announcements. 13, Stat! :hi:

Besides, I made up the part about the piped in music, just seemed like a good addition to your thread.
