Favorite Daily Comic Strips
I think there are some great ones out there that are either liberal-leaning or progressive values.

My favorites that I read everyday:

For Better or For Worse: I love that this family was aged, when I first started reading it Michael and Elizabeth were just kids and now Michael is married with kids of their own. They have covered a great deal of topics including outting one of Michael's best friends. And you can tell the creator isn't supporting the war, she has made many anti-war comments including from Grandpa, a WW2 veteran.

Funky Winkerbean: The creator has covered the following topics quite nicely in his strip including Rape, Breast Cancer, Intelligent Design vs. Evolution, Drunk Driving & alcholism and they even have one of the main characters on his SECOND tour of duty (first in Afghanistan where he & his new bride went for a honeymoon to work with an anti-landmine group PLUS adopted an orphan afghanistan child) and now he was recalled to Iraq.

Boondocks: I love this strip but I've heard that the creator is discontining it.

Doonesbury: What can I say - it's a classic!

Jump Start: I just like it because like "For Better or For Worse" they age the kids. Plus Marcy's step-brother now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles (the creator is a Philly native).

What's some of your favorites!

Oh, plus everyday when I read my favs on http://www.ucomic.com/ I go to the cartoon sherpa and check out "The Radical Fringe" drawn by our very own radfringe!

2. Speed Bump is pretty great
It's a "panel" comic, not a strip, but it's frequently brilliant and always good for a laugh. I've met and corresponded with the cartoonist, Dave Coverly, a couple times, and he's a great guy. Plus he loves good music and sneaks references into his cartoons, and his politics are pretty progressive. Check him out at http://www.speedbump.com

4. Mine
I stopped getting the paper, so I put together a Firefox bookmark group so I can read all my faves with one click:

http://comics.com:
9 Chickweed Lane - strip of the year!
Pibgorn - internet strip by Chickweed's guy, very stylish
Get Fuzzy
Monty
The Meaning of Lila - the shallowest bunch of people since Seinfeld
Pearls Before Swine
Rose is Rose - I know it's corny, but it cheers me up
Soup to Nutz - Babs is so cynical, Andrew is so innocent, Royboy is so dull-witted
Marmaduke (just kidding, I hate Marmaduke)

http://gocomics.com:
Clear Blue Water - great family life strip, she's a Demo, he's a Repub, they're crazy in love
FoxTrot
For Better. . .
Doonesbury

6. I love...
Get Fuzzy
Pearls Before Swine
Foxtrot
Luann
Baby Blues (I have voices that I use for Zoe and Hammie)
Non Sequitur, when Danae is in it

Also, I love the webcomic Questionable Content ( http://questionablecontent.net ). There is rarely a day when that strip will not make me just burst out laughing. Plus I understand all (well, most anyway) of the indie-rock references!

13. My pleasure.
Best part about the Belfry is they let you know if a strip is violent, or has sex or whatnot.
